Qutub Minar, a Place to Visit in Delhi

Qutub Minar is also written as Qutab Minar is one of the tallest Minars and popular historical place in India. It is an Islamic monument and is added among the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Qutub Minar is one of the best places to visit in Delhi made of red sandstone and marble. Qutab Minar is five storeys Minar and each Minar has separate balcony. The base of the Qutub Minar is about 15 meter and reaches up to top level it decrease to only 2.5 meter. Adjacent to Qutb Minar there is also a small mosque, called Ul- Islam Mosque which is the first mosque to be built in India.

I think every Indians who have proud and respect in their heart for our soldiers must like this place, yes we are talking about the another prominent place to visit in Delhi, called India Gate or All India War Memorial. Established on 10th February 1921, India Gate, formerly known as Kingsway is a war memorial to 82,000 soldiers of Indian Army who laid their lives in First World War (1914-21) in East Africa, Gallipoli, France, Mesopotamia and other places.  The memorial bears the names of approximately 82,000 Indian Army, and apart from them over 13,300 names of servicemen few from soldiers and officers of the United Kingdom are also emblazoned on the gate.

India Gate History
India Gate was built during the British rule over India on the memory of soldiers of Indian Army who got killed in First World War representing British Army. The foundation of the India Gate was laid by then Duke of Connaught and the ceremony was joined by few higher personnel of Indian Army, Imperial Service Troops and Chelmsfor, the viceroy. India Gate was opened for public on 12th February, 1931 designed by Edwin Lutyens.  In the covering area of India Gate, the Government of India has planned to make new National War Memorial which is expected to build in approximately 66 million US Dollars.

Red Fort Delhi, a Historical Place to Visit in India

Once served as the residence of Mughal emperor, Red Fort is one of the historical monuments in India situated in the heart of capital Delhi. Red Fort is the place where Prime Minister of India hoists the national flag every year on 15th August, (Independence Day of India). Red Fort History
History of Red Fort dates back to 1648 when it was setup as capital fort for fifth Emperor Shah Jahan of Mughal dynasty. The fort is made in Mughal architecture and was architect by Ustad Ahmad Lahuri. It is beautiful complex wall made of red sandstone, originally known as Qila -I- Mubarak. In 2007, it got chosen for UNESCO World Heritage site, being the part of Red Fort Complex.

The major attraction of the Red Fort is its structure that consists of walls, gates, chowk, audience halls and imperial apartments. On the occasion of Independence Day prime minister of India flies National Flag from this gate.  Delhi Gate is other major attraction in the fort that is located in south side to the fort also known as southern public gate. Timings of the Red Fort are morning; 9:30 am to evening 4:30 pm Tuesday to Sunday, Monday remains closed. Entry fee is Rs 10/ for Indian Citizens, and for foreigners Rs, 150/-. Apart from this, 50 Rs is separately taken for Sound and Light Show. Red Fort Delhi is located on Netaji Subhas Marg, Chandni Chowk and is accessible all the medium of transport like bus, auto rickshaw, train and by air from all parts of the world.
