Khajjiar Best Hill Station in India

Khajjiar is an angelic hill station in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh that comes under the Chamba district. It is placed at the distance of about 24 km from Dalhousie. It is among the most beautiful hill stations in India visited by number of tourists. A small lake, snowy peaks, beautiful grasslands, and dense forest make it hotspot and one of the best tourist places in India. The place is surrounded by Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas. Situated at an altitude of around 6400 feet above sea level, the place is not less than heaven. In 1992, Mr. Willy t. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India called it "Mini Switzerland" and attend it on World tourism map.

Khajjiar Lake: It is a beautiful small lake surrounded by cedar trees forest. The lake is at an altitude of 1,920 m above sea level between Dalhousie and Chamba Town.

Khajjinag temple: KhajjiNag temple is one of the oldest temples in the region believed to built in 12th C. AD. The temple is dedicate to Naga (snake) deity,a local deity. It is adjacent to lake comprises images of Pandavas and Kaurvas. The temple has beautiful wooden carving in its sanctum and also owns some snake idols inside it worshipped by people.

Dauladhar mountains: Khajjiar is situated at foothills of Dauladhar mountains that enchants the heart of nature lovers. Panoramic views of the hills, green grasslands are few characteristic of the place.

Pathankot Railway Station is the nearest train station situated at the distance of 120-km away. It falls on the Gurdaspur Road. One can get bus  from Pathankot Station to Khajjiar. Pathankot railway enquiry number is (0186) 2220417.

By Road

The place is 26-km away from Dalhousie and 24-km from Chamba, and 520-km from capital Delhi. State transport buses and private cabs are easily available for Khajjiar .
